“We cannot rate this lodge highly enough!”
“What a find! This lodge is remote enough to be very private, but so easily accessed from main motorways, only an hour and a half from Glasgow! I am a wheelchair user and was delighted to have found an accessible lodge with a wet room shower. This lodge has been built to the highest spec, but with wheelchair access in mind, not the other way about.
We booked the lodge for a family break for my mother’s birthday. All of the family, from my 14 year old son, to my Mum, had a fantastic time and would definitely go back. We cannot rate this lodge highly enough! Sophia and Roderick, thank you for a wonderful time.”

“Excellent location on the edge of a private woodland”
“If you are looking for a beautiful country lodge look no further. Excellent location on the edge of a private woodland. We were more than pleased with this find, you wanted for nothing and the owners (who live nearby) were very welcoming. Local shops are a short drive away as are local amenities. The lodge benefits from central heating throughout but also has a wood burning stove, perfect for the cooler nights. There is also a steam room which after a day’s walking is an absolute bonus. Large sliding door onto a wooden decking, perfect for outdoor dining. Barbecue is available upon request. The master bedroom has its own en suite bathroom. A great find and we plan to return.”

“Sophia and Roderick couldn’t have been more friendly and welcoming”
“Sad to be leaving as we had a great time. Lodge is built to a very high standard inside and out-very clean and has everything you need. Beautiful views and walks our dogs loved it! Hard to believe it’s so close to Perth so position is perfect if you need anything. Dunkeld is a lovely town with some great places to eat. Sophia and Roderick couldn’t have been more friendly and welcoming even bringing us fresh eggs one morning. Hope we can return again soon.”

“The lodge is modern, spotlessly clean and equipped to a very high standard”
“My wife and I feel lucky to have found such a wonderful place to stay in what is a beautiful part of Scotland. We wish we could have stayed longer in what is top quality self-catering accommodation in a great location. Our hosts Sophia and Roderick were most welcoming and very keen to ensure we had a happy and problem-free stay. The lodge is modern, spotlessly clean and equipped to a very high standard. The surrounding grounds provide an attractive, quiet and private place to unwind after days out walking or visiting local attractions. Nearby Perth provided for all our shopping needs, in particular an excellent Marks and Spencer food hall just 10 minutes away. If eating out there are many good restaurants to choose from in Perth. We can recommend the Post Box in George Street. We plan to return.”

“Beautiful lodge set in a peaceful location, yet close to A9 for easy access to nearby towns”
“Lovely wooden lodge equipped to the highest standard with quality kitchen equipment, bed linen and towels. Spotlessly clean, comfy seating area with large TV, Blu-ray and Sky TV. Very comfy beds! Panoramic, uninterrupted views out over the fields were stunning in the evening. Luxurious steam room was an added bonus. Very relaxing after a day sightseeing.
Our children and the dog had an amazing time running through all the paths in the private wooded area to the side of the lodge and loved sitting out on the deck on a nice evening. Moneydie was exceptionally handy for day trips around Perthshire. Ideally positioned within a couple of minutes’ drive from the A9 meaning that Perth was easily accessible, as were the lovely towns of Dunkeld, Aberfeldy and Kenmore – in the opposite direction. Lots of stunning walks in and around the area. We also managed a day along the Fife coast, towards Anstruther and Pittenween, only an hour away and lovely beaches.
Sophia and Roger, the owners, helped greatly with suggestions of things to do in the area, places to eat and walks which they thought we would enjoy. Would highly recommend this lodge to anyone who likes to be out and about during the day and then come back to somewhere, with absolutely no traffic noise or noisy neighbours, that is peaceful and relaxing. Absolutely loved our week away in Moneydie – thank you.”

“Very comfortable, fully accessible lodge in a beautiful location”
“This property is very well equipped and maintained to a very high standard! Our whole family found the beds the most comfortable of any rental property we have ever stayed in. The whole ambience of the lodge is peaceful and relaxing whether you wish to just relax in front of wood burning stove, listen to music, watch movies on the smart TV or just enjoy the view as you eat dinner on the deck (managed to do one night – good for Scotland!).
The lodge is fully wheelchair accessible including a wet room and steam room with additional well-appointed hand rails in the bathroom, which made our stay even more pleasant when a family member (myself) has poor mobility. Sophie and Roderick who own and manage the property are lovely people and were so helpful.
Perthshire is a stunning part of Scotland to explore and the more able family members enjoyed white water rafting at “Nae limits” near Pitlochry. We also enjoyed an evening at Pitlochry festival theatre and can really recommend the “The Apron Stage” restaurant (Stanley) and the Indian restaurant Chatni (Methven) which were both more than happy to accommodate our daughter’s vegan diet.
I most definitely would recommend this lodge to other friends and families, as suitable for those of all ages and abilities with a lot of versatile activities and places to visit nearby.”

“All the comforts of home in a wonderful location”
“We stayed a week in this handsome, well equipped cabin and could not have been happier. The property is in a lovely setting with a view out to a little pond, home to a busy heron while we were there. The tidy woodland trail was inviting even in the rain. Roderick, the owner, does an admirable job maintaining the woodlands and the trails.
The house itself is very comfortable with a nicely stocked kitchen (I even found a salad spinner, a rarity in holiday rentals!), good linens, and comfortable beds. Sophia and Roderick are welcoming and friendly, full of suggestions and happy to help with anything you need.
Close to just about everything you might want to see in central Scotland, I cannot imagine a better holiday choice in the area.”

“The best lodge/cottage that we have stayed in over the years”
“Fern Lodge is the best lodge/cottage that we have stayed in over the years.
The owners, Sophia and Roderick, were friendly and very helpful in providing local information and supplying a generous welcome pack.
The lodge is in a most peaceful setting overlooking a pond surrounded by gorse. We even had our own wood to explore. Needless to say, there was plenty of wildlife, we even had a deer come down for a drink one morning.
Inside the lodge was immaculate with everything that we needed. The disabled facilities are good with easy access, a wet room and even a steam room.
Despite being such a tranquil setting the lodge is only 15 minutes from Perth with all it’s facilities.
We hope to return soon.”

“The Lodge itself has everything you would need to make your stay perfect”
“From the moment I enquired till the day we left Sophia and Roddy couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming.
The Lodge itself has everything you would need to make your stay perfect. The location is fantastic as you feel you’re miles from anything but in fact you are only 15mins from the shops. It’s also within easy reach of Edinburgh, Dundee, Glasgow and Loch Lomond which Is definitely worth a visit as it’s beautiful. Edinburgh is definitely worth a visit too.
We had a fantastic holiday and it was also made special by having a lovely coating of snow which our 2 girls and dog thought was fab. We will definitely be back when visiting Scotland.”

“Spotless, well equipped and fitted to the highest standard”
“My husband and I have recently returned from a fabulous 3-night weekend break in Fern Lodge. We were joined by my elderly Dad. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would have enjoyed a longer visit. The lodge was spotless, well equipped and fitted to the highest standard. Sophia and Roderick were extremely welcoming and went out of their way to ensure an enjoyable stay. We hope to return in the future.”

“We really enjoyed walking on pathways around the lodge and just watching nature from the large patio window.”
“Peaceful, cosy, and very relaxing place to stay, set in the midst of nature in the Perthshire countryside, yet near enough to visit the larger cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow or the local attractions that Perthshire has to offer. We really enjoyed walking on pathways around the lodge and just watching nature from the large patio window. The lodge was immaculately clean and the kitchen had all the utensils we needed to make a family meal. Facilities for wheelchairs were superb with access everywhere, including a well-designed wet room. I would strongly recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing break away from it all but with the option of exploring the area.”

“Super comfortable lodge in a beautiful woodland setting.”
“Super comfortable lodge in a beautiful woodland setting. Equipped with absolutely everything you need and more. We stayed during the Ryder Cup at Gleneagles and it couldn’t have been a better place to come back to after a hard day’s golf watching!”

“Sophia and Roderick are a lovely couple and make you feel very welcome”
“Fern Lodge is situated in a peaceful area surrounded by woodland. It is in easy travelling distance of all the tourist attractions in the area (we were going to Knock Hill racing circuit). The lodge is spotlessly clean and furnished to a very high standard. We have stayed in quite a few self-catering lodges and this one is by far the best equipped. Everything you could need is provided. The owners, Sophia and Roderick are a lovely couple and make you feel very welcome. We have already recommended the lodge to friends and would certainly stay again.”
