Solas Festival in Errol

Solas Festival has been hailed as the most family-friendly music festival in Scotland, and in 2019 it is back with a brand new location. The much-anticipated event offers an idyllic countryside weekend getaway where revellers can enjoy live music, debates, discussions, theatre, workshops and activities for all ages.

The festival has been running annually since 2009, and now in its tenth year, the weekend event will take place at Errol Park in the stunning estate grounds overlooking the River Tay. It is clear to see why Solas Festival is known as being so family friendly, as, throughout the weekend, there are various events designed specifically for children ranging from young toddlers right up to teens.

What’s On At Solas Festival
This year’s Solas Festival is taking place on 21st to 23rd June 2019 and has an exciting line up ready to keep festival-goers entertained for days. Live music includes performances from Niteworks, Kobi Onyame, Stina Tweedale and many more performers. As well as incredible musical shows, Solas Festival will also be hosting various writers, thinkers and speakers including Jackie Kay, Josie Long and Chris McQueer.

For those more interested in the performing arts, there will be theatre, dance and visual art acts taking to the stage across the weekend. Children and families can enjoy a daytime silent disco, various craft activities, nature walks, children’s films and live fire cooking.

Visiting Solas Festival 2019
Tickets for Solas 2019 are available online now, and you can choose a weekend ticket for £110 or just visit for one day for £38 per adult. The venue this year is Errol Park located in the village of Errol between Perth and Dundee, and it is easily accessible from both cities using public transport. A range of catering options are served throughout the festival weekend from local suppliers.

Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options are all available, and there is also the option to bring your own picnic to the festival field. Caterers for this year’s Solas Festival include Woodburns Pizza, Aye Coffee, The Rolling Stove and GastroGrilla, so there is sure to be something delicious for everyone.
